The Downtown Bike Patrol squad provides coverage specifically to the downtown area, which includes all areas North of First St, South of Seventh St, East of Broad St, and West of Patterson Ave.  Officers assigned to the Downtown Bike Patrol squad answer calls for service, enforce city ordinances, enforce traffic complaints, and provide police service during special events.  The Downtown Bike Patrol squad works a similar schedule to the patrol squads providing coverage to the downtown area everyday.

The Winston-Salem Police Department Downtown Bike Patrol is located at 414 N. Cherry Street. The Bike Patrol operates a dayshift from Tuesday through Friday, 8:00am until 6:00pm and an evening shift Monday through Saturday, 5:00pm until 1:00am.  There are currently 9 officers on the bike patrol.  The bike patrol boundaries extend from 1st Street to 7th Street, Broad Street to Patterson Avenue.  Burke Street is also included in the bike patrol area.
